About Jelly Steampunk

About me:

Hi! My name is Inara and I'm the owner of this shop. I am a full time highschool student and now a small business owner! I have always been passionate about crafting and beautiful things. My main hobbies have always revolved around arts and crafts. I have been working with resin and decoden for a while now and have recently gotten into jewelry making. I also love content creation and my dream is to be a full time artist and business owner. 

What is Jelly Steampunk?

The inspiration for my shop's name and aesthetic was seeing some very talented Japanese jewelry and resin artists on Instagram. Their beautiful magical and celestial designs reminded me of jelly with their crystal clear colorful resin elements and of a steampunk aesthetic with the intricate metal embellishments and chains. I wanted to make similar things (and still plan to!) and so the name Jelly Steampunk was born. I hoped that my Instagram account and eventual shop would revolve around this aesthetic. 

How I started my business:

To be honest, I didn't have an exact plan in mind when I began posting my art on social media. I had some experience with TikTok before so I was confident that I could apply my knowledge to my new accounts and I was confident that people would like my art. I had done some commissions for friends and family before I officially launched my shop. I had been taking orders by DMs but wasn't getting many inquiries. Once a tiktok post of a decoden case I made got a lot of attention and interested commenters, I decided to open a website. Thus, in late November of 2024 my shop was officially opened. Yay! Now it's been a little over a month and I've gotten more support and orders than I could have ever imagined.
